Kerr, the top golfer in the Eagles girls’ program, tied for 43rd place in the Class 3A state tournament a year ago. She is headed to Southwest Minnesota State University.

How did you get started playing golf? My grandma taught me how to golf when I was 6. I’ve loved it ever since.


At my first varsity practice, I felt … very nervous.


What did you work on most before the upcoming season? My overall body strength and mental game.


What are your goals for your senior season? Be the most positive person I can be.


What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Finishing second in the Section 3 tournament my junior year. [The runner-up finish qualified her for the state tournament].


How do you balance school and sports during the year? I make sure to let my teachers know when I will be gone to stay one step ahead.


Do you have a secret talent — and if so, what is it? I can crack every joint on my body.


What is the best sports advice you ever received? Let yourself be good, and you will be great.
